I have been blogging for the almost 2,5 years, starting with my two relatively popular Irish blogs (www.drakkart.com/eire2 and www.drakkart.com/eire) ? the place where I presented my points of view, my remarks on Ireland, Irish culture, history and society and on Polish immigrant community on the Emerald Island. Blogging on Ireland gave me many opportunities and new directions of my personal development and path of life. Coming to Ireland as an archaeologist I became a columnist for Polish... Read more

Crime in Ireland: where do you go from here'

From Ireland from a Polish Perspectiv, 9 month ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

The brutal attack on two Polish lads who died in the hospital is the most clear example of the “dead end” of changes in Irish society. I don’t know what was the picture of the Irish society 10 or even 5 years ago, but the newspapers provide me the information about the scale of changes and the growing crime and brutality among the Irish society, especially teenagers. According to the Irish Independent (Tuesday 4 March 2008)?? knife crime in Ireland had'? risen 300pc in four... Read more

Carlow Castle - the example of indolence and incompetence of Carlow Council

From Ireland from a Polish Perspectiv, 9 month ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

In the latest issue of Carlow leading newspaper - The Nationalist - there was an article about the Carlow Castle issue. One of the biggest tourist attractions of the town has been left without proper tourist facilities (car park, easy access to the site), covered with litter and in darkness during the night. I have described Carlow Castle in one of me first posts on my Polish blog 2 years ago. I mentioned the large number of the broken bottles that were covering the yard (or interior of the... Read more

Two Poles died after being attacked in Dublin

From Ireland from a Polish Perspectiv, 9 month ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Two Poles died after being attacked by a group of teenagers while they were buying chips in one of the takeaways in Drimnagh/ Dublin last Saturday. The older - 29 years old Paul has just died in St James’s Hospital in Dublin. They were stabbed with screwdriver. The gangs of Irish kids and teenagers left unattended by their parents (who are both drunk or stoned) , kids taking and selling cocaine, using shotguns and being extremely brutal it is a growing stereotype picture of the Irish... Irish Blog Awards - looking for a lift from and back to Carlow

From Ireland from a Polish Perspectiv, 9 month ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

My photoblog (www.kozerawski.com) is shortlisted for Irish Blog Awards. Last year I couldn’t come to the awards gala. I was in Poland. This time I want to go to meet Irish bloggers I know only in virtual reality. The problem is the time of the gala. It is at 7.30 PM and I am afraid I will finish quite late and I won’t catch the bus back to Carlow. If there is anybody from Carlow or who is going to Irish Blog Awards gala and will be driving through Carlow on his or her way to Dublin... Read more

Nenagh.pl for sale

From Ireland from a Polish Perspectiv, 9 month ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

As some of you knows - I am the owner and the creator of a few Polish websites for Irish towns. One of them is Nenag.pl It provides information about the town for the Polish emigrants, together with the discussion forum. Due to the fact that for the last 10 months I have been living both in Carlow/Ireland and in Poland I can not update the site. Due to the end of the hosting period I have decided to shut down the service or to sell it. The price for the domain and service is 2000 Euro. Let me... Read more

Polish drivers vs Irish ones

From Ireland from a Polish Perspectiv, 9 month ago, Read 0 times. Similar articles

Couple of times, on my blog, I mentioned that some of us - Polish emigrants - have inferiority complex typical for emigrants, and it is usually expressed in complains. Since I came to Ireland I have been listening to Polish drivers complaining on Irish ones. In fact Irish drivers are not the best in the world, and even I have seen so many times how Irish people drive their cars. Hover, it doesn’t mean that Irish drivers are worse than Polish ones. Let me say, we are both bad drivers, but... Read more

Today during sorting and cleaning folders with photo files on my hard disc I found some photos from Dingle peninsula I took during my trip to Kerry with Vagabond Ireland and Dingle with Vagabond Ireland as a travel journalist for Wings Magazine. On the very last day we went to excellent glen/valley (I still don’t know what word is more relevant to Ireland, but I have learnt Scottish instead of English) somewhere in the middle of Dingle. The weather conditions wasn’t so bad, and I... Read more

Happy New Year to all readers of Ireland from a Polish perspective. I am still in Poland and I am leaving behind very hard time of my life being almost homeless (due to the almost never lasting renovation of our apartment) and ill (long lasting bronchial tubes infection). One of the most important promises for the forthcoming 2008 year is coming back to writing about Ireland and spending in Ireland at least the same time like in Poland. After I came back to Poland where I spent last 2,5 months... Read more
